Academic Support: The Writing Centre

The Writing Centre is staffed by faculty who offer free, one-on-one assistance to students. Appointments are available online and in-person.

Book an appointment

Be sure to select 2026 Fall Cowichan from the menu at the top left of the appointment booking page, under Schedules. This ensures you are booking an appointment at the Cowichan campus Writing Centre.

You can book 2 appointments per week, up to 12 days ahead. Appointments are also available throughout the week in-person at the Nanaimo campus on the 4th floor of the library, as well as online.

Appointment options

In-person appointment

Meet with your tutor in person at the scheduled time and location.

Video chat appointment

Approximately 5 minutes before your scheduled appointment, log back into this website. Open your appointment and select “Start or Join Online Consultation.”

eTutoring appointment

After scheduling your appointment, upload your paper for your tutor to review. Then, monitor your email for a notification that your appointment has been modified. This notification indicates that your tutor has responded to your paper with feedback.
